An Update

We just wanted to let you know that our model home location in Riverside will be closed until January 10th. Our office will still be open our regular hours and one of our previous posts discusses the holiday hours. We want to wish you all a very happy holiday season from our Carriage Manor family to yours.

We know we’ve told you before how much we love the community we’re located in, but we also love the people we work with. We realize that we have so much to be thankful for and our subcontractors are a big part of that. Nearly all of our subs have been with us over 5 years and some have been with us since the beginning. It is because of the talent that lies in these individuals that we can build the kind of homes we build. We’re proud of our subs and we’re proud to say that they have all dedicated their lives to their professions and they have chosen us to work with.

We're different and that's a good thing

For years we have been saying that when it comes to Carriage Manor the ‘difference is in the details’ and we have not found another home that portrays that message quite as well as this home. It consists of exotic hardwood floors, a two-story fireplace, a custom oak stair system, barrel vault ceilings, a glass block shower and amazing granite countertops. We’re proud to say that this home is one of ours. After looking through the slideshow we’re sure you’ll see what sets us apart. Spend an evening out on the town

For individuals that relocate to this area from larger communities and cities it may seem as though there is not a plethora of activities to fill your weekend and weekday evenings. However, looking a little bit closer there are plenty of great events happening in the surrounding communities and since we love where we’re located we wanted to share a few of them with you. A Dickens Wine Tasting
Saturday, November 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“Walk through the London Fog, hear the chimes of Big Ben and have a toast with Jacob Marley and Ebenezer Scrooge. Enjoy the competition of a hearty silent auction, eat delicious foods and appetizers, take a chance on overstuffed raffle baskets and learn about wine. A Child’s Christmas in Wales

“We offer Dylan Thomas’ memories of his own childhood Christmas, where eccentric aunts and uncles come to dinner and the house is filled with song and the smells of turkey. 2nd Annual Historic Homes Holiday Walk
Saturday, December 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Come see Bloomsburg’s historic homes and churches decked out for the holidays! Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Children’s Choir. Bloomsburg’s finest homes in full holiday regalia and refreshment galore! Tickets required for anyone over the age of 12. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the tour. 28th Annual Victorian Holiday Parade and Celebrate

Helping You and Your Home be Green

We believe that it is our duty as homebuilders and community members to be environmentally conscious. We recently replaced the light bulbs in our office building with CFL bulbs and are looking for more ways to join the ‘green movement.’

Throughout our quest to find more ways to be better with the environment we came across two tools that we wanted to share. You have probably heard the term ‘carbon footprint,’ but have you ever known how to figure out your own carbon footprint? By visiting the website www.carbonfootprint.com you can use their online calculator to determine yours and then figure out how to offset it. Some of our employees have already starting trying this and we recommend you try it too!

We also found a website in one of the magazines we receive (Green Builder) that we thought was worth sharing. The website is www.nahbgeen.org and the tool that we have started using is the Green Scoring Tool. In order to use this you must create a username and password, but from there you can enter information about your own home and the website will give you a score based on your answers that will tell you if your home is green. The scores range from bronze to silver to gold.

Two Dreams Come True in One!

You have most likely heard of the tax credit for first time homebuyers, but we want to shed some light on it and let you know what it is really all about. So we’ve put together a bulleted list of some of the major aspects and included a web address where you can obtain more information.


*Homes must be purchased by a first time homebuyer between April 9, 2008 and July 1, 2009
*The maximum credit is $7,500
*Single taxpayer with an income up to $75,000 and married couples with a combine income of up to $150,000 are eligible
*The credit is actually an interest fee government loan that must be repaid over a 15 year period *You can claim the tax credit on your federal income tax return
*The home must be your principal residence

We're opening our home and having a party! In fact, we're calling it a 'home party extravaganza!' This Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Many vendors available to showcase their products for the holiday season including: Avon, lia sophia, Longaberger, Mary Kay, Northern Lights, Pampered Chef, Premier Design Jewelry, Princess House, Scrumptiously Delicious, Silpada, Stamp 'n Up, Tastfully Simple, Tupperware, uppercase living and MORE!

Directions: Take route 54 South over Danville/Riverside bridge. Go over railroad tracks straight through and around corner towards the Danville Airport. Turn left on Avenue G. Go past cemetery and turn left into new subdivision on the left. River Hill Lot #10 is at the top of the hill on left.

we don't just build homes

This recently completed project was a renovation as well as an addition. The original house is on the left side of the photo - the addition starts at the middle of the photo (the areas with the rectangular windows). Most of the photos are from the addition with a few from the renovation. Everything about this house, from the fireplace, to the hardwood floors and the beams will take your breath away.
